Be Combi Red

In 1950, Volkswagen created a small utility type 2 vehicles for a family audience: called the Combi. The launch of the Combi followed that of a type 1 better known as the Beetle.

The Combi became the second legendary brand that generations of consumers associated with freedom. The nickname "Combi" comes from the abbreviation of Kombinationenwagen in German and can be translated as "multi-purpose."

In Germany, the country of origin, the Combi is called "Bulli" bulldog for the likeness with the front view of "split-windows." As presented in the first generation.

The Combi has everything to seduce the family target ... low cost, small size ... It is the first real mini van to transport up to nine people.

Far from the image consensual family, the Combi is today's "ICON" of hippies and young people in search of freedom.
More than just a means of transport, the Combi is the symbol of a generation and a new way of life... The community!

Type 2 celebrated its sixtieth anniversary in 2008. The original design and the first prototypes were created (in 1947), three years before its launch.
